Optimising You: The Real Path to Performance

August 04, 20253 min read

Over the last few months, I’ve been working exclusively with individuals and organisations on optimising wellness in the workplace and I’ve absolutely love it. Last week’s blog post was ‘The Osmotic Effect of High Performance’, and I received some great feedback on “How”, when we have such a diverse employee group…?

But here's what I’ve noticed: More often than not, employees aren’t even doing the basics right and if your people aren't operating at their optimal health then how can the organisation expect to?

Every day I talk about optimising personal performance, and I’m not talking about fancy wearables, IV drips, red light panels, or the latest cold plunge hack. Although they all help, but it’s imperative that you do the basics right first. I’m talking about ownership, accountability, and consistency.

In today’s wellness space, we’re bombarded with quick fixes, shortcuts, fads, and gimmicks all marketed as the golden ticket to better health, performance, and longevity. But the truth is: you can’t hack your way to high performance if you haven’t laid the foundation.

The Basics Aren’t Sexy, But They Work

Most of my clients are intelligent, driven individuals so, it's rarely a matter of education or awareness. The challenge isn’t knowing what to do, it’s doing it consistently. This is way a large percentage of my corporate clientele, employee, me as an accountability coach, to guide, support, and challenge their commitment.

Human nature is powerful. We’re wired to seek ease, comfort, and fast results, but if you're constantly chasing the latest trend or the easy option, you’re building your house on sand with little stability.

So instead of chasing the shiny object, ask yourself: Am I truly committed to the process?

Have I earned the right to bio hack and if so which one? Before we talk fasting, wearables, peptides or nootropics, let’s make sure you’re:

  • Sleeping 7–8 hours a night

  • Moving your body daily

  • Eating mostly whole foods

  • Managing your stress

  • Connecting with people who support your growth

These are the non-negotiables. Master these, and you’re 80% of the way there. The best performers I work with don’t rely on motivation. They build systems. They design a roadmap that fits their life, their priorities, their goals and then they take full ownership of it. That’s the difference between someone who dabbles and someone who transforms. They take radical responsibility and they play the long game. Not many people go to bed broke and wake up a millionaire.

Your health is no different. Small Wins, Repeated Often

So, if you want to change your life? Start small.

Drink water in the morning. Go for a walk at lunch. Eat a meal without distractions. Then do it again tomorrow. And the next day.

These tiny acts, stacked consistently, build momentum. And that momentum builds belief and belief? That creates change.

It’s not flashy. It’s not fast.

But it works. Every time.

If you truly want to optimise you, stop looking for the next hack. Start building a system you can stick to. Design a routine that makes you proud. One that you’re willing to take ownership of because when you commit to the process, when you choose consistency over convenience, the results will come. Guaranteed.

Now the question is:

Are you ready to earn them?
